What was the catalyst for launching your business?
I reached a point in my career where something was missing and had a desire to fill that void. The thing I loved most was working within a talented team of creatives – however I felt that going out on my own would be the only way I could reach my full potential. Taking the risk, is how our name came about, LIFE BY DESIGN is our mantra for designing the life you want to lead, not the life you have to live.

What do you love most about what you do now?
We don’t just create logos, we create brandmarks that tell powerful brand stories. There is no better feeling then bringing the idea to realisation. The brand must connect to the end consumer, evoke emotion to then became a timeless and trusted brand. To be lucky enough to do this every day with our clients gives us a satisfaction like no other.

Describe the biggest setback you faced when establishing your business? How did it affect you and how did you push through?
Wearing so many hats. From account management, finances, creative, then setting up and running my own marketing plan. It was clear my business was not scalable. I mapped out my entire process and have since hired a studio assistant and senior designer freelancer to ensure I can continue doing the parts I love most. The most significant change personally has been the shift from a scarcity mindset into an abundance consciousness, this could only happen by staying confident, surrounding yourself with fabulous fempreneurs, getting a business coach and from time to time giving yourself a break. Sometimes not being so hard on yourself, can be the catalyst for your success and growth.

Everyone has days where they feel flat or uninspired – do you have any tricks or tactics for overcoming these feelings?
I have personal trainer three times a week, this helps me renew my energy and its often the last thing people feel like doing but whats needed most. Simply getting out and going for a walk or spending time with family or my niece and nephew. Try new things. I love to go to new cafes/restaurants, try new foods/flavours, go to an exhibition/fashion show and travel to new places. Break out of the mould and create disruption to be inspired by others, places and senses.
